The times we spend with friends and loved ones are usually some of our most precious moments, and the memories we make last a lifetime. Here are fun activities with friends that cost little.
As we go through our daily life responsibilities, it’s important that we make room for quality time with our loved ones and plan special moments with them.
The most common way of catching up with friends in recent times is to go out to eat. It might be brunch, dinner, or drinks at a bar.
Regardless of where you go or how expensive it is, these expenses add up and could be a major drain on your budget.
But you can have an equally good time, maybe an even better memorable time doing other activities that are free or cost very little when spending time or catching up with friends and loved ones.
So, if your friend or group of friends want to hang out with you and you want to show them a really good time without spending much here are a few fun activities you can do.
Go sightseeing
The first on the list of fun activities with friends that cost little is sightseeing.
It is very common for people living in a place to have never visited historic places in that city or town, even if it attracts a lot of tourists.
You can take your friends or loved ones to see statues or monuments, libraries, museums, etc., or whatever it is that makes your town or city unique.
Explore your city
Take them along to explore your city. Find routes you are not familiar with, coffee shops and restaurants you haven’t been to, book shops, etc.
Try new street foods, new stores, and window-shop.
This gives you a feeling of adventure in your own city, and the places you discover can become your new regular stops henceforth if you like them.
Don’t wait until you leave a place to regret not exploring the entirety of it.
Games
Whether it be card games, board games, video games, etc., they all have something in common, which is the ability to make you scream your lungs out and laugh so much your stomach hurts.
I recently discovered a card game called mafia at a friend’s birthday celebration, and It was so entertaining. Basically, the game tests how well you can lie or convince others that you aren’t a mafia whether you are or not. Everyone else has to guess and try to eliminate the mafia.
I was definitely paying attention to friends who were pulling it off effortlessly, lol.
You can go with whatever games your friends prefer, and I assure you hours will go by in no time.
Bowling
Yes, it’s a little competitive, but in a funny and fun way, unless your friends are ones to get their feelings easily hurt, it is a nice way to let your silly and goofy side out a little.
It’s a great way to relax, loosen up, have fun, and catch up with each other at the same time.
It is super casual, too, if you are looking for that.
Bake something
Baking is another fun activity you can share with your girlfriends, sisters, or Mom.
The several steps involved in baking make it easy for all of you to partake while catching up on life and what is going on with each person.
This is great for days you just want to hand out, talk for the most part and spend quality time together.
And when it is ready, you can enjoy the delicious food with some drinks, maybe some music too.
Hiking
Hiking has a lot of pros. For one, It is adventurous. It’s a great way to spend time with friends and also clear your head. Something about the breeze and quietness of nature brings tranquillity to the chaos of everyday life.
It is also a good exercise to get your heart pumping.
And while you are at it, there are also beautiful landscapes to marvel at and take pictures of.
Picnics
Picnics are a great way to take advantage of a nice day with good weather.
Have a good time playing games, chatting, and, most importantly, eating with friends.
What better way to spend a nice day than to satisfy your taste buds and spend quality time with loved ones at the same time?
You can have each person bring some food that way, it is affordable for everyone coming.
There are so many picnic themes and games you can find online. It definitely is a nice way to spend quality time with loved ones outdoors.
Bike riding
Whether you are just riding in a park or from one destination to another in your city, bike riding, just like hiking, can be a little workout while also taking in the sights.
It is an activity that requires you to be present and attentive.
If you are tired of loved ones being glued to their phones when you spend time together, this is a nice way to have them take a break from their phones.
Road trip
Road trips are one of my favorite activities to do. It doesn’t have to be a long trip or a distant destination.
What I love a lot about it is that there aren’t many distractions (except for the driver, of course), just you and your friends jamming and singing along to songs on your playlist and chatting about life.
It is a good way to explore the outskirts of your city or visit a neighboring city.
The next time you are planning on hanging out during the weekend, consider road-tripping somewhere close.
karaoke night
By no means am I limiting you to doing karaoke only at night, but I think it can be a fun activity for sleepovers.
It’s fun to listen to your friends trying to imitate some of your favorite singers and artists.
Haven’t seen your friends in a while because you all have busy schedules? Invite them over on an evening you are all free so that you can sing the stress away!
